DistributionEdit

The special was part of an uneasy alliance between Disney Enterprises, Inc. and TimeWarner; however, due to Warner's ownership of DC, it was reluctant to let Disney do a Batman project with them. (Usually, movies produced under the alliance were distributed worldwide by Disney.) An agreement was reached between the two companies in 2003; the companies would split the profits evenly between them like in the normal alliance, but Batman TV specials would be distributed by Touchstone or Disney only in North America; internationally the specials would be distributed by Warner. As a result, the opening logo sequence at the start of each special depends on who distributes the special on home video in each territory (Touchstone's or Disney's logo appears first in North America, and Warner's logo appears first internationally). On PBS broadcasts there are no opening logos. PBS has TV broadcast rights in North America.
